Cedar (foreground): Growing slowly and often reaching an age of
400 years or more, the Northern White Cedar is an aromatic
evergreen valued for poles, posts, and lumber. Fir (left and right): Native to the Northeast, the Balsam Fir make aromatic Christmas trees, wreaths and sachet pillows. Most often found in pure stands. White Pine (background): The largest conifer in the Northeast, the White Pine is the state tree of Maine; the pine cone and tassel is the state’s floral emblem. The tall straight trunks were once prized as ship mast in the colonial era. Also available in Juniper, Tamarack, Hemlock and Spruce (not shown).
